TWO PICTURES WORTH TWO THOUSAND MORE QUESTIONS

The picture▲, above, was taken at 10AM on Wednesday, Jan 19 (the day after the incident at Gardena High School) is of not one, but two disassembled LAUSD pulse induction airport security type metal detectors in the “Blue Room” – next to the LAUSD Board of Education’s meeting room at school district headquarters at 333 South Beaudry.   The units – purchased at taxpayers’ expense and operated by LAUSD School Police Officers - are used to screen members of the public attending Board of Education meetings  …in essence keeping the board safe from their constituents rather than keeping students in schools safe.

The picture▼, below, from the LA Times, was taken slightly earlier in the same day. It shows a student entering Gardena High School on the morning after the shooting being screened in a very low tech manner. (Mark Boster / Los Angeles Times / January 19, 2011)
